About the Houtz Family
Aaron, Rachel, Anna, James, Melea
Aaron and Rachel have both had the privilege of hearing the Gospel from a very young age and accepted its truth in their hearts at an early age. Aaron grew up in a Pastor's home, seeing the challenges and blessings of ministry. Aaron and Rachel met as children at the church his Dad pastors in upstate New York.
Aaron has had an interest in aviation since his early teens, but he was not sure about the Lord's will for his life. The Lord used a visiting missionary family to direct Aaron's desire to missionary aviation in a bush ministry. I (Aaron) remember being very willing to go to the mission field as a pilot to help missionaries, but I had no desire to preach to the lost. The Lord changed my heart and gave me a love and desire to preach the Word while I was in Bible college at Bob Jones University, and especially during our time attending our sending church, Mount Calvary Baptist.
Rachel has a love for music, and she completed her degree from Bob Jones University in String Pedagogy. Already, the Lord has shown Rachel some ways He plans to use her musical abilities on the mission field as well as in her own home. As they grew to know each other better, the Lord led Aaron and Rachel to be married in June of 2016. Since then the Lord has blessed them with 3 children: Anna, James, and Melea. The Lord allowed Aaron to complete his degree in Ministry and Leadership from BJU in 2021. They love their home church in upstate South Carolina, Mount Calvary Baptist Church, and have experienced the blessing of being mentored under this ministry. The preaching, fellowship, and ministry opportunities have continued to shape them and grow their desire for service!
